Veteran Filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao Recovering Well: KIMS

Hyderabad: Veteran film director and former Union minister Dasari Narayana Rao, who is undergoing treatment at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospitals here, is recovering well, according to doctors.

"He is recovering well and dialysis is not required now. This morning, we had removed ventilator support for sometime but since his body was too weak to handle it, we have brought him back to ventilator support," said KIMS Hospitals MD & CEO Dr Bollineni Bhaskar Rao in a health bulletin.

Rao said tracheotomy surgical procedure has been done to help Dasari breathing better. "Dasari is expected to recover well in three to four days time," he said. The veteran filmmaker was hospitalised on Monday last where he was operated for kidney failure, sepsis and respiratory failure.

His health is being constantly monitored by a team of experts, and everything that is required to ensure his speedy recovery will be done, the bulletin said.

The National Award winning filmmaker holds a record of directing over 125 films and producing 50 others. Some of his best films include "Premabhishekam", "Meghasandesham", "Osey Ramulamma" and "Tata Manavadu". He had recently announced his plans to make a biopic on late actress and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa.
