Bollywood Loses An Enigmatic Charm: Shashi Kapoor No More
Legendary Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor, the romantic screen icon of '70s and '80s, died on Monday. He was 79.
Actor Randhir Kapoor, son of veteran actor Raj Kapoor, confirmed the news."Yes he has passed away. He had kidney problem since several years. He was on dialysis for several years," Randhir Kapoor said. He said Shashi Kapoor died at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning, he said.
Third and the youngest son of late Prithviraj Kapoor and brother of late Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor, Shashi underwent a cataract surgery in 2012. Married to Anglo-Indian theatre actress Jennifer Kendal, Shashi had three children -- Kunal, Karan and Sanjana Kapoor. Shashi made his debut with Yash Chopra's "Dharamputra" in 1961.
