Vellampally Demands White Paper On Galeru-Nagari, Handri Neeva

Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party official spokesperson Vellampalli Srinivas on Wednesday demanded that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N CHandrababu Naidu release a White Paper on the expenditure incurred in the construction of Galeru Nagari and Handri Neeva irrigation projects during the past three years.

Srinivas said that the TDP government was trying to inflate the estimates of the two projects which are lifelines to the drought-hit Rayalaseema region. These two projects address the irrigation and drinking water problems of the parched region. Former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy has taken up these projects by allocating sufficient funds and completed the works at a brisk pace during his regime. But, after Chandrababu came to power, the project costs have been inflated and the works are going on at a snail's pace, he said. He dared the CM to release a White Paper on the status of two pending projects.

The YSR Congress leader alleged that Chandrababu has taken up " ala Haarati' to encash the sentiments of gullible people. The CM has no moral right to speak on river-linking as Chandrababu has illegally occupied the river bed of Krishna and constructed a palatial residence on the river bank in contravention of the rules.
