Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga Statue Demolished at Machilipatnam

Vijayawada: Tensions erupted at Machilipatnam in Krishna district on Sunday morning with unidentified miscreants demolishing a statue of Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga.The head of the statue of the Kapu leader who was murdered on December 26, 1988 for his fervent movement for the welfare of his community was broken some time during the night.

As the news spread like a wildfire, Vangaveeti supporters gathered at the statue and staged protests. The protests spread to other areas in the district and police had to rush to the spot to control the situation. A dog squad was pressed into action to trace the culprits.

Vangaveeti, an epochal leader, enjoyed a huge fan following during the peak of his political career before being killed. We all know that sensational Tollywood director Ram Gopal Verma is now making a movie on Vangaveeti.
