Upset SBH customer stages semi nude dharna in front of bank

Hyderabad: An upset customer of State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) in Adilabad district expressed his protest in front of the bank's head office in Abids in Hyderabad on Thursday which created a furore among the bank employees.

Prakash, a businessman of Adilabad district, mortgaged his house at one of the SBH branches in the district as collateral for a loan. He intended to use the loan amount for his hotel in Basara a few years back. Despite repayment of his loan, the bank failed to return the title deed to him.

Despite several requests to the bank to cancel the mortgage of his house, the officials of the bank ignored him. Upset over the official apathy, Prakash came from Nizamabad district to the bank's head office in Abids (Hyderabad) at around 11 am on Thursday to meet the Regional Manager of SBH. When he was obstructed to enter the bank by the security personnel, Prakash staged a dharna in front of the head office by taking off his shirt and also waving related copies of the loan clearance.

By this unexpected protest, the security personnel informed the Abids police. The latter brought the situation under control by arranging an appointment with the Regional Officer of the bank, besides a brief counseling at Abids police station.
