Uppunutala Purushottama Reddy dies in Hyderabad
Former minister and YSR Congress Party leader Uppunutala Purushottama Reddy passed way in Hyderabad on Saturday morning. He died at the Apollo hospital while undergoing treatment for brain stroke. Uppunutala is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters.
The former minister, who was admitted to hospital on May 1 was in a state of coma for a long time.
He his a native of Addaguduru village of Motkuru mandal in Nalgonda district. He served as a minister twice in Kasu Brahmananda Reddy and Jalagam Vengala Rao's cabinets. Uppunutala was elected to the Assembly from the Ramannapet constituency twice and he was also an MLC. He served as chairman of APICC and Telangana Development board.
Several politicians paid their last respects to the departed leader.
YSRCP district convener Biravolu Somi Reddy said they have lost a senior leader in the party.
