Uppalapati Krishnam Raju rejoins BJP

Hyderabad, Actor turned politician Uppalapati Krishnam Raju rejoined BJP on Wednesday.

According to reports, he was welcomed into the party by BJP president Rajanath Singh and senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu. Raju had previously contested in 12th Loksabha election as MP and won the election on behalf of BJP. For the 13 th Lok Sabha election he contested from  again and won.

He was also a Minister under the Atal Bihari Vajpyee government. In 2009 after Chiranjeevi announcing Praja Rajyam Party he contested from Rajamundry, but lost.

On Wednesday,  he was welcomed by Rajnath Singh during his visit to Hyderabad.
