UP Cops Let Accident Victims Die, Video Goes Viral
Saharanpur: In an incident that puts humanity to shame, the Uttar Pradesh policemen left two youngsters bleeding on the road without taking them to the hospital only to ensure that their patrol police vehicle won't be soaked in blood.
The shocking incident occurred on Thursday at Saharanpur town in Uttar Pradesh. A video of the incident has gone viral sparking outrage on the social media.
According to reports, the victims, who were identified as Arpit Khurana and Sunny Garg, both 17 years of age, rammed their motorcycle to a pole. Both of them were thrown off due to the impact and fell on a drain with grievous injuries.
The three policemen who were patrolling arrived at the spot. However, they were reluctant to take the victims to the hospital saying that there would be blood stains over the vehicle seats if they plied the victims. Meanwhile, the onlookers waited for another vehicle to rush the victims to the hospital. By the time another vehicle came to their rescue, the boys had died.
In the video, a person who is said to be an acquaintance of one of the teenagers, is seen requesting the policemen saying: They are also somebody's children... I request you." Nobody else has a car here. Take them," the man repeatedly requested the policemen at the accident spot.
One of the policemen is heard saying: "It will stain our car. Your car can be washed but when the car goes for a wash, where will we sit all night," policeman said.
KS Emmanuel, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Saharanpur Range suspended all the three terming the incident as unfortunate.
