Ummareddy elected Guntur local body MLC

With the deadline for withdrawal of nominations to the local body MLC elections over, it became clear that election has become necessary in Kurnool and Prakasam districts, where there are more candidates than the number of seats.

YSRCP senior leader and former union minister Ummareddy Venakteswarlu was elected unanimously from Guntur local body constituency. The other candidates who have been elected unopposed are: Annam Satish from Guntur, Buddha Venkanna, Rajendra Prasad from Krishna, Payyavula Keshav from Anantapur, Reddy Subramanyam from East Godavari, MVVS Murthy, Pappala Chalapathi Rao from Vizag and Dwarapu Jagadish from Vizianagaram – all from the TDP.

In Kurnool, TDP candidate Silpa Chakrapani Reddy, YSRCP’s D Venkateswara Reddy are vying. In Prakasam district, TDP’s Magunta Srinivasa Reddy and YSRCP’s A Chinna Venkata Reddy are contesting.
