Udaya Bhanu not to join politics, continues as writer
With the elections coming up within a year, it was rumored that noted anchor and actress, Udaya Bhanu would enter politics. Speculations were rife that she would contest from the Husnabad Assembly constituency.
But the actress finally cleared the air about her possible entry into politics. Udaya Bhanu, speaking to a local news channel, made it clear that she will not enter politics. "I will not join any party. Some parties approached me but I said no to them," the actress said.
Background:
Udaya Bhanu hails from Koheda Mandal of Karimnagar district. Her father Moinuddin, worked as the Sarpanch of Koheda thrice and died in 1987. Thereafter, her family shifted to Hyderabad and she started her film career in the Tollywood industry. Beginning her career as an anchor, she acted in many films in small roles and also was seen in a couple of item songs.
A song she wrote and sang about current politics in the state on a TV show went viral on YouTube. It’s controversial lyrics forced it to be removed from the site.
It is learnt that Udaya Bhanu received some threatening calls regarding the song too. She said no to poltics but yes for writer.
