Two TDP legislators, MLC join TRS

Hyderabad: Two MLAs and an MLC from Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday formally joined the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) party in Telangana.

As per reports, the legislators had announced their decision to support the TRS government earlier this month. Thalasani Srinivas Yadav, MLA from Sanath Nagar in Hyderabad, Teegala Krishna Reddy, MLA from Maheswaram in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district, besides the MLC, Gangadhar Goud joined the TRS in the presence of its president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The development is viewed as a setback to TDP in Telangana.

The Telangana Chief Minister said on the occasion that his government aimed to make Hyderabad a slumless city.

Stating that development in Hyderabad did not take place in a disciplined and regulated way over the years, Rao said the city would be developed as an international city in a grand manner.
The state government is determined to provide drinking water through taps to every household in Telangana in four years, he said.

Referring to the ongoing row between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on sharing electricity, he alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu denied Telangana its rightful share of power.
He also said that all those who live in Hyderabad are children of Hyderabad.

All those living in Hyderabad, whichever region they belong to, they are all children of Hyderabad. They are local people. People from Gujarat, Marwaris, Kerala, Tamil Nadu are living here. Friends from Andhra are also children of Hyderabad. I have said this hundreds of times. Chandrababu Naidu would not take care of you. In fact, there is no need or occasion to make you suffer, he said.

Rao said the Telangana state government would welcome investments and ensure that the Telugu movie industry in Hyderabad grows. If investors come from Andhra, we will give them a red carpet welcome, he said. He said the government would also encourage the movie industry. All people living in Hyderabad should be united and work for its development, he said.
