Two held for cheating unemployed persons

Police on Friday arrested two youths on charge of cheating unemployed persons on the pretext of providing them jobs in Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC).

Sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force (Central Zone Team) apprehended Naresh Kumar and his friend K Harikrishna, who took Rs 50,000 from a woman with a promise to help her get a job in the state-run transport undertaking in February this year, police said. The duo gave her an appointment letter with a logo of APSRTC and joining date.
The woman realised that she has been cheated when the letter turned out to be fake, they said. Police claimed the duo had earlier cheated several others in the similar way.
