Two doctors of a private cosmetics clinic in Hyderabad were arrested by Cyberabad Police for allegedly performing a faulty laser hair removal treatment on a NRI woman which led to scars and burns on her face.

The victim, Chandana Reddy, a US resident, had gone to the cosmetic clinic on June 18 for facial hair removal, but post the surgery she developed scars and burns on her face, Madhapur police said based on her complaint.

"I felt burning sensation on my face after the treatment, however, the doctors told me that nothing will happen and everything will normalise in a day," the woman said.

Following the complaint, Madhapur police booked a case under relevant sections of IPC and arrested Dr Konda Reddy and clinic's owner Dr Kiran Kumar yesterday, Sub-Inspector V Srinvasa Rao said. We have seized certificates from the clinic and the woman has been sent to government hospital, he said. Both the doctors subsequently got bail. Further investigations are going on, said Rao.
