TV artistes protest over dubbed serials
It's no news now that prime time slots on local TV channels have been bought by producers of Hindi serials. Popular Hindi and Tamil serials dubbed into Telugu are being aired on local channels.This had robbed Telugu serials of their TRPs.
Telugu TV artistes who are losing their livelihood because of these dubbed serials on Tuesday intensified their agitation by staging a dharna at the Maa TV office in Hyderabad.
It is learnt that scores of TV artistes, workers and technicians protested at the office demanding a complete ban on dubbed serials.
There was a rift between the security personnel and the artistes when the former attempted to obstruct their protest. The artistes threatened to continue with their agitation till the dubbed serials are fully banned.
They alleged that the dubbed serials being telecast on some private Telugu channels had turned them jobless and forced them to stay back at home
