TV artiste dupes colleagues, runs away with Rs 5 crore - Sakshi Post

In a shocking incident, a TV artiste, Vijaya Rani absconded after duping her colleagues of Rs five crore.

Her colleagues, also TV artistes filed a complaint against Rani in the Central Crime Station (CCS).

They alleged that she primarily acted in mother and aunt roles. She always maintained a low profile, but slowly managed to gain the confidence of her neighbours in Filmnagar. After gaining their trust, she would encourage them to invest in chit funds. Trusting her and hoping that their money would double over a period of time, the neighbours would give her the money.

Soon, she started doing the same with her colleagues in the television industry. According to reports, Vijaya Rani collected almost Rs five crore and has been absconding since last week. Initially her colleagues and neighbours thought that Rani has gone to her native. But when they tried calling her, her phone was switched off.

A complaint has been filed against her with the Central Crime Station (CCS). Police have lodged a complaint and a manhunt has been launched to nab the erring actress.
