Tuni Violence: CID Serves Notice on Bhumana Karunakar Reddy
Tirupati: CID on Saturday issued notices to YSRCP General Secretary and former MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy. The CID in the notice has directed Bhumana to appear on Monday (September 19) again in connection with ongoing questioning pertaining to Tuni violence.
CID on September 6 and 7 grilled Bhumana for over 16 hours in Guntur on Tuni violence.
CID is investigating into the reason behind the violence took place in Tuni on January 31, 2016, after the meeting of Kapu Garjana convened by Mudragada Padmanabham. Several persons were arrested and released on bail in this case.
Criticizing Chandrababu Naidu for illegitimate acts, YSRCP’s official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said efforts were made to frame Bhumana in Tuni violence to blame it on YSRCP. He further expressed his concerns over the way Bhumana was subjected to a marathon and grueling questioning by CID. He demanded an impartial CBI inquiry into Tuni violence.
