TTD neglects 700 year old tradition ?

The dispute among the  Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and Hathiramji Mutt came to the fore on the occasion of Krishnasthami festival celebrations.

The TTD offcials did not take the processional deities to Hathiram Mutt as has been the convention for well over 700 years.

The representatives of the mutt said that it was very sad that the TTD had violated a tradition which has been running for the last 700 years.

“On the day of Krishnashtami day, the deities are brought to the mutt in procession. But, the TTD officials ignored the tradition this year. We will move the court on the issue,” said the representatives of the mutt.
