TTD Approves Annual Budget Of Rs 2,858 Crore

Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which governs the ancient hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala near here, approved the annual budget projecting an estimated revenue of Rs 2,858 crore for the fiscal 2017-2018.

TTD Board Chairman Chadalavada Krishnamurthy and Executive Officer D Sambhasiva Rao told reporters on Tuesday that cash offerings by devotees at the temple hundi was projected for Rs 1,110 crore while interest on investments in various nationalised banks was estimated to fetch Rs 807.7 crore. The sale of hair to be offered by devotees after getting their heads tonsured was expected to fetch Rs 100 crore while sale of different worship tickets was estimated to net Rs 256 crore. The much sought after sacred laddu prasadam sale might amount to Rs 165 crore while the revenue from pilgrim accommodation allotted to the devotees during their short stay was estimated to be around Rs 124 crore, they said.

On expenses, various engineering works to be taken was estimated at about Rs 200 crore while salaries to the permanent staff and out sourcing workers was projected for Rs 828 crore, they said.

Highlights of the TTD Board Meeting

  • The Board has approved preparation of New Sahasranama Kasula Mala to Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala at Rs.11 crores.
  • The M/S Nirmal Sethia Foundation of London has agreed to pay Rs.12 crores to construct the temple of Lord at Kurukshetra in Haryana.
  • Construction of a massive Sarva Darshanam Complex for the sarva darshan pilgrims at Tirumala at a cost of Rs.5 crores.
  • Rs.3.53 crores sanctioned to construct PAC at Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy devasthanam near Bhadhrachalam in Khammam district.
  • Construction of Kalyana Mandapam at Chennur village of Gudur mandal in Nellore district at Rs.1.25cr. Towards the renovation of Sri Chennakesava Swamy temple in the same village at Rs.21.60 lakhs.
  • Sanction of Rs.21.15lakhs towards the renovation of Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple at Bandameedipalle in Rapthadu mandal of Anantapur district.
  • Sanction of Rs.3.80 lakhs towards gold malam works of Makaratoranam, Golden Tiruchi in Lord Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy at Appalayagunta.
  • Replacing the LED bulbs, street lights fittings etc. in the place of existing fixtures in all the chowltries and rest houses in Tirumala at Rs.4.5crores.
