TSR felicitates spiritual masters on birthday eve

Rajya Sabha member and city’s famous philanthropist T Subbarami Reddy felicitated well-known singers and actors of yesteryears and also spiritual leaders on the eve of his birthday on Sunday evening.

At a glittering function held at Kalabharathi Auditorium Reddy said his birthday celebration was being held for two days. On Sunday, spiritual personalities and priests from the sacred shrines of India would be felicitated and on Monday Sarvadharma Samabhavana Sammmelam and diamond jubilee of S Janaki’s singing career would be celebrated at Kalavani Port Stadium.
He said though his family was presently in Hyderabad, he wanted to spend his birthday in Visakhapatnam as the city was close to his heart. ``I consider Vizag as my family,’’ he said amidst thundering applause from the crowd.
Reciting hymns of Lord Siva, he said he wanted to share the 'Eswara Shakti' he had attained with the people. Actor and Congress MP Chiranjeevi and Mahidhar Reddy, minister for municipal administration, will lay the foundation on Monday for the convention centre at MVP Colony to be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore Reddy said the auditorium could accommodate about 900 people.
It will be managed by Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA). Lyricist and director JK Bharavi, actor Vanisri, popular cine-playback singer K Jamuna Rani, movie producer Narajaya Sridevi, playback singer LR Eswari, and spiritual masters Yanamandra Venugopala Sastry, Sridhar Swamiji, Kavi Samrat Seshabhattar Sudarshana- charya, Madugula Nagaphani Sarma, Daivagna Sarma, Tiruppavai Kokila Majulasriwere were felicitated on the occasion. Singers from the city enthralled the audience by redering popular songs.
