TRS members push down Revanth Reddy in Assembly hall - Sakshi Post

The Telangana Assembly began on a stormy note with ruling TRS MLAs manhandling TDP MLAs.

At least three MLAs, including Revanth Reddy were pushed away by the ruling TRS leaders. The TDP MLAs sought to raise the issue of defections engineered by the ruling party from the TDP and wanted the Governor to intervene. The TDP members alleged that the speaker and the ruling party were trying to throw the norms to winds by not disqualifying the MLAs. As they began shouting slogans, the TRS members joined the issue and pushed down the MLAs. There was tension in the assembly hall for some time.

Angry TDP MLAs continued sloganeering all through the Governor’s speech and the TDP members tore down the copies of the Governor’s speech and threw them at the Governor.

Interestingly, the Congress too initially resorted to sloganeering, but its members calmed down after CLP leader K Jana Reddy dissuaded them. Today’s events have indicated that the issue of ruling party-engineered defections from the TDP could dominate the budget session.
