TRS gets belligerent, TDP goes defensive
With more and more MLAs being called for questioning by the ACB and the TDP becoming increasingly defensive, the TRS is shifting its gears attacking Chandrababu Naidu.
The renewed belligerence of the TRS could be seen by the latest comments by junior MLAs Ashannagari Jeevan Reddy and Balraju. The MLAs who addressed the media on Thursday said that all doors are closed for Chandrababu Naidu and that he faces imminent arrest. Reddy even said that he had credible evidence that the TDP was looking for a replacement for Chandrababu in the event of his arrest. He said Chandrababu’s wife Bhuvaneswari could become the chief minister.
TRS sources also revealed that KCR is confident that the Central Government is not likely to intervene in the current controversy. In a meeting with some TRS MLAs, MPs and senior leaders at Karimnagar, KCR reportedly told them that Chandrababu Naidu is ‘finished.’ He reportedly told the partymen that the six-hour-long AP Cabinet meeting on Wednesday primarily focused on how to fix KCR. “Even my language and the tone and tenor of my speech was sought to be targeted,” he is reported to have said.
