TRS decision on merger with Congress March 3
TRS chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao said his party will decide March 3 whether or not to merge his party with the Congress.
He told reporters here Thursday that he alone can't take a decision on the issue.
A joint meeting of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) politburo and other bodies will be held March 3 to chalk out the future course of action in the wake of the passage of the Telangana bill in parliament.
While the Congress expects Rao to fulfil his commitment that the TRS would merge with the Congress if a Telangana state was created, there is a difference of opinion among TRS leaders over the issue.
KCR, as Rao is popular among his supporters, criticised central minister Jairam Ramesh for making certain remarks. "A man who can't get elected even as a sarpanch is making insulting comments about Telangana."
The TRS leader said he had information that the central government was trying to merge seven mandals of Bhadrachalam division of Khammam district with Seemandhra. "This is unfortunate."
The TRS chief promised to provide housing facility to all the poor in Telangana state. He said each house would be built on 125 square yards for every poor family.
