Trekkers go missing, found

Hyderabad/Bengaluru: Two trekkers from Greater Hyderabad Adventure Club, who went missing on Sunday while on their trekking trip to Chikmagaluru in Karnataka, were rescued by a special force in Etteikonda area.

According to sources, as many as 11 members of the Hyderabad Adventure Club had gone to Chikmagluru forest area for trekking. Vivek Gupta, an IIIT Gachibowli staff member and Sashidhar, a software engineer from Secunderabad area were a part of the 11 member team. Their plan was to meet at one point and leave for Hyderabad together. Vivek and Shashidhar had met the others as per their plan but they went back into the forest leaving their kits and cell phones behind. The other team members informed the local police and left for Hyderabad.
The police department with the help of Special Forces of the forest department started a search immediately. The duo was found near a waterfall at around 8pm on Tuesday.
“They were sent to a safe place for medical assistance. After the medical, they will reach Hyderabad on Wednesday” Suresh, a representative of Adventure club said.
