Treasure hunters held, 10 kg golden idol seized

A gang involved in treasure hunting was busted at Bhakarapet in Chittoor district on Wednesday. A golden idol weighing about 10 kilograms was seized from them.
According to information, some gangs were alleged to be involved in the treasure hunting in Chandragiri fort and other historical monuments in the district for quite some time. The police, however, did not confirm the arrest as the accused have been grilled to know their modus operandi.
