Transgender Insists Lover Marry Her, Stages Dharna At Police Station
Vijayawada: Transgender Durga walks up to the police with a complaint against her lover boy Rakesh Reddy stating he promised to marry her, but now is now absconding. Durga claims that she changed her sex after Rakesh promised to marry her, but later Rakesh married another girl.
When police evinced no interest in the case, Durga staged a protest at the police station in Penamaluru in Krishna district on Monday.
Donu Durga Rao, a native of Ongole in Prakasham district and Rakesh were friends since 2007 when both were in intermediate in Penamaluru in Krishna district. They lived together for a few years and in 2010, Durga Rao became Durga after undergoing sex change operation in Mumbai. However, after a while, Rakesh started avoiding Durga and married another girl. When Durga insisted, Rakesh gave a promissory note for Rs10 lakh as a compensation.
However, as the date of payment of money approached, Rakesh is not to be found anywhere around. Durga approached police, but they were unable to decipher the matter and refused to file a case. Then she went to Rakesh's father Chiranjeevi Reddy who works at a bank in Penamaluru. She insisted that Rakesh’s whereabouts must be revealed to her, but he would never. Instead, he complained to the police.
On Chiranjeevi Reddy's complaint that Durga created nuisance at his bank, police booked a case against her. However, they also booked a case against Rakesh for cheating Durga.
