Track damaged in blast at Asifabad, rail traffic hit

A bomb exploded on the railway track in Asifabad in Adilabad District on Thursday evening.   A length of the track was damaged and has necessitated the stoppage of trains on the route by the railways.

A lineman was injured in the blast.

No train was scheduled to pass over the track at the time of the explosion, sources said.

Several trains including Patna, Duronto and Kerala express which were supposed to run through the spot were detained and four other trains also halted at Bellampalli and Nampalli stations. 

Sources said that the police have recovered some more bombs from the spot.
