Tourist Boat gets stranded in River Godavari

A tourist boat with over 150 persons on boat, was stuck in the sand in River Godavari. The incident occurred near Veeralanka island in Godavari on Thursday. The steering of the boat failed and as a result, the boat had to remain stranded for over an hour.
The boat named Sai Gayatri started from Purushottapatnam for Papikondalu and got stuck at about 11.30 am. The personnel on boat informed the officials about the incident and arrangements were made to evacuate the tourists to another boat.
