Top Engineering Colleges Challenge Telangana Govt. Fee Structure

Four engineering colleges have moved the Hyderabad High Court challenging the new fee regulation - Sakshi Post

These colleges include Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology and Vasavi College of Engineering and Technology.

Hyderabad: Incensed over the fee structure fixed by Telangana Admission Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) four engineering colleges have moved the Hyderabad High Court challenging the new fee regulation saying it is an impediment to pay the teaching staff as per the 7th pay commission.

These colleges include Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology and Vasavi College of Engineering and Technology.

“We have expressed the view that the fee structure fixed by TAFRC would not allow the colleges to pay teaching staff salaries as per the 7th pay commission,” said Malakonda Reddy, President of CBIT Society.

On the other hand, NV Ramana Rao, convenor of EAMCET notified that the fee structure for the engineering courses will be finalized in accordance with the court decision.

It may be recalled that the two colleges - Sreenidhi and Vasavi - issued public notices against the imposed fee structure while after a thorough examination CBIT and MGIT took the decision

“There shall be an interim direction to the convenor that, while giving admissions, shall notify students about their impending liability to pay the differential amount, if any, depending on the result of the writ petitions. In addition, the petitioner-managements are entitled to obtain an undertaking from each of the students to the same effect,” reads the HC order.

It may be recalled that the two colleges - Sreenidhi and Vasavi - issued public notices against the imposed fee structure while after a thorough examination CBIT and MGIT took the decision.

Incidentally, JNTU, Hyderabad has extended the last date till Thursday for exercising web options for engineering seats. The seat allotments will take place on Friday and students will be reporting to their respective colleges from July 31.
