KGF Collects 175 Crores Worldwide
KGF :Chapter 1 is on a record setting spree! It has now become the only film from the South after SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Conclusion to break the RS 100 Crore mark . Not only that it is the only film in Karnataka to have crossed this milestone which was hitherto unseen or unheard of in Sandalwood.
Produced by Hombale Films and directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF with Yash in the lead role with Srinidhi Setty as the heroine, was released on 2,400 screens across the country on 21 December and was dubbed in four languages.
The Hindi version was released by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment and Anil Thadani's AA Films. In two weeks, the Hindi dubbed version of KGF has earned Rs 31.7 Crore making it the fifth highest-grossing Hindi dubbed film of all time after Baahubali: The Conclusion, 2.0, Baahubali: The Beginning and Kabali.
KGF is still running to packed houses in Bengaluru in the third week with more than 350 shows and in the states of Andhra and Telangana, the film has crossed the Rs 20 Crore gross mark with a share of Rs 9.5 cr. While in the US of A KGF has crossed nearly $700K after the third week and still continuing with an added 23 new locations opening for the fourth week. KGF:Chapter 1 can be officially called as the first Kannada film to break box office records in the Hindi speaking areas and is the biggest film ever produced in the history of Kannada cinema.
