The varsity disrupted power and water supply on Saturday around 7pm - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: To drive away the non-boarders from the campus, the Osmania University administration on Friday cut off power and water supply to the hostels on the campus on Friday evening.

Enraged over the administration's move, the students gathered at the vice chancellor's office raising slogans 'we want justice' and they demanded the power restoration as soon as possible. "The varsity disrupted the basic needs like power and water supply. Many students are preparing for competitive exams. How can they take such kind of decision," a student leader said.

The protests calmed down around 10pm after the university assured the students that the power and water supply will not be interrupted till June 23.

"Non-boarders are a problem for the varsity. Our motive is only to drive away unauthorized boarders but not to upset the other students on the campus," OU Registrar Gopal Reddy said.
