Tirupati to get tech zone
Hyderabad, The Andhra Pradesh government Monday said it was preparing a proposal for setting up an Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in the temple town of Tirupati.
The proposal will be submitted to Central government for approval, said a press release from the department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications. The ITIR would have minimum 40 sqkm area with minimum 40 per cent processing area and will include SEZs, industrial parks, export processing units and service centres. In order to prepare the proposal for the Tirupati ITIR, the Department of ITE & C has sought data and information from authorities concerned of Chitoor, Nellore and Anatapur districts, the release said. Recently, the Central government accorded sanction for setting up an ITIR at Hyderabad. The government will hold an inter-departmental meeting in Tirupati on October 26 at the Software Technology Parks of India conference hall, it further said.
