Tirupati: Samaikyandhra activists set car on fire

What initially started off as a simple rally turned into a major agitation after the Centre's announcement on Telangana.

Opposing the division of state, Samaikynadhra activists set a car on fire in Tiruapti.  The protestors also deflated the tyres of vehicles in some other parts of the city.

A car bearing the number AP 09 7496 was burnt. Later, fire engine doused the flames.

Road transport came to a standstill while shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed in Tirupati.
