Tirupati MLA Venkata Ramana dies in Chennai Hospital
Tirupati MLA M Venkata Ramana died of prolonged illness at a hospital, in Chennai on Monday. He was 67. He is survived by wife and two daughters.

The TDP MLA was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai for heart-related ailments. The end came in the early hours of Monday. Venkata Ramana previously underwent two by-pass surgeries. He joined the TDP from the Congress just before election and recognising his popularity, Chandrababu Naidu offered him a ticket by sidelining prominent leader Chadalawada Krishnamurthy. However, ever since he won, Venkata Ramana could not take active role either in the party or in the constituency due to ailments. He has been hospitalised a couple of weeks ago.
Several leaders, including chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, former Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy expressed their deep condolences at the passing away of the MLA.
