Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanam approves Rs 2,248 Cr budget
The Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanam(TTD) on Saturday approved Rs 2,248 crore budget for 2013-14.
The TTD Board which met at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala enhanced its estimations for engineering works. The Devasthanam projected more income from auctioning of human hair.
In view of recent terror attacks at Dilshuknagar, the TTD management allocated Rs 1 crore for purchasing three sets of bomb disposal equipment as part of security measures. The Board also decided to commence gold malam works for 18 doors at Bangaru Vakili in the Srivari temple.
The TTD budget projections for the year are: Rs 859 crore income through Srivari Hundi, Rs 558 crore through fixed deposits, Rs 185 crore through darshan tickets, Rs 200 crore through human hair, Rs 150 crore through laddu prasadams, Rs 90 crore from cottage allocation, Rs 45 crore from paid seva tickets and estimated income of Rs 116 crore by other means. The Board resolved to sell arjitha seva tickets of other TTD temples through E-darshan counters from June this year.
