Tipper overturns at same spot where little Ramya, family devastated

Hyderabad:  A sand-laden tipper van overturned on Saturday at Road No. 2 in Banjara Hills where 9-year-old Ramya and her family members met with the horrific car accident on July 1.

Ramya’s uncle Rajesh died on the spot, the girl died after 10 days and her grandfather too succumbed within a week after all of them were injured in the accident.

The tipper was coming from Banjara Hills Road No.2 towards Panjagutta at around 7:00am on Saturday. When the vehicle reached Hindu Cemetery, the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle got overturned. Though no casualties were reported, the person who was sitting on the sand load received minor injuries. A scooterist also got injured after the vehicle he was plying slipped and fell down due to the effect of the mishap.

Just a half a kilometre distant form the spot, an SUV met with a minor accident on Friday midnight.

Meanwhile, responding on the incident, Telangana Minsiter KT Rama Rao on Saturday stated that all the roads in the city would be renovated and widened as early as possible. The accident prone area where little Ramya’s family met the accident at Road No.2, Banjara Hills, is top priority.
