Times Now Faces Backlash After Calling Kerala As Pakistan
New Delhi: News channel Times Now has been facing a backlash after it inadvertently typed Kerala as Pakitsan. While covering a live news about Amit Shah’s arrival in Kochi the screen read as -Heads to thundery Pakistan.
In short span of time, a flurry of criticism began and many believed that it wasn't accidental error as Pakistan is no where related with Kerala and cow slaughter. Realising the gaffe, the channel issued statement tendering apology on Saturday morning, " Times Now Regrets an inadvertent error reported on the channel on June 2, 2017 regarding Amit Shah’s visit to Kerala. Instead of Kerala, the word Pakistan was inadvertently typed. Times Now once again regrets the error which may have hurt sentiments."

A leading Malayalam writer NS Madhavan has asked the State to take stern action against the channel by directing the digital operators for closure of the channel.
