Eluru: Residents of Dwaraka Tirumala in East Godavari district are in state of fear after some locals spotted fresh pug marks of a tiger in the locality on Tuesday. Thousands of devotees throng the holy temple of Dwaraka Tirumala every day from both the Telugu states.

The tiger scare caused panic among the villagers and the tourists. Following a information given by villagers, the forest officials swung into action to catch the feline.

Based on the tiger pug marks, the officials confirmed that the wild animal is on the prowl in the vicinity and cautioned the people and devotees about the same. It may be recalled that a leopard was spotted by some villagers a month ago in Tirumanapalem village in the district.
