Thousands bid final adieu to Rama Naidu
The mortal remains of veteran film producer Dr Rama Naidu were consigned to flames at his studios in Hyderabad on Thursday afternoon.
The legendary producer, a Dadasaheb Phalke award winner, passed away in Hyderabad after fighting prostate cancer.
Son Venkatesh, grandsons Rana, Abhiram and Nagachaitanya were the pall-bearers. In the presence of eminent film personalities, politicians and fans, Suresh Babu lit the funeral pyre amid chanting of Govinda and Narayana by pundits and gun salute by the police.
As a mark of respect to the legendary film personality policemen reversed their guns and later fired three rounds in the air.
The Rama Naidu's studios was jam-packed with the crowd and police faced tough time controlling the crowd.
His body was kept at the Rama Naidu studios and at his residence for public to pay their last respects.
Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Reddy represented the Telangana Government at the funeral.
