‘This Was Not Expected Of Krishna Rao’

Parakala Prabhakar
Vijayawada: Former chief secretary IYR Krishna Rao had the freedom to meet chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu without appointment and his allegation that he did not get the CM's appointment for six months are baseless, AP Government advisor Parakala Prabhakar said.
Addressing the media here on Tuesday, he said it was not expected of Krishna Rao to level such false allegations against the chief minister. "In view of Krishna Rao's immense experience, integrity and honesty in public administration, he was personally invited by the CM for the chairmanship of AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation. Under the stewardship of Krishna Rao that Corporation was run in an efficient manner despite a deficit budget," Prabhakar pointed out.
Justifying the sacking of the Chairman, Prabhakar said, "Every civil servant has to follow certain rules and procedures and implement government schemes and policies. Other than that there no rule that a civil servant has to sing peans of the government. Same was the case with Krishna Rao. But it is not right on his part to express his views on social media regarding government policies." He also clarified that there were no internal politics in AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation. While reiterating that the state administration still has immense faith and respect for Krishna Rao, Prabhakar said he was sacked for his social posts criticising the government.
