This Lallaguda Man Is Remorseless After Burning Girlfriend

He set the very girl he loved on fire. He then turned himself to the police and admitted to the act. Karthik, the youth, who set Sandhyarani of Lallaguda in Secunderabad on fire, was both remorseless and expressionless when he was produced before the media by the police on Friday.

Sandhyarani, who works as a receptionist at an aluminium fabrication unit, was called to the spot by Karthik. After she reached the spot, he suddenly poured kerosene on her and set her on fire before fleeing.

Karthik was stalking Sandhyarani for quite sometime. Though she entertained him for sometime, she felt she should move on as he was a unstable. When he began stalking her, Sandhyarani had lodged a complaint with the owner of Lucky Traders, where both were working. The owner reprimanded Karthik. Unable to bear this, Karthik set her on fire on Thursday night. She died in the hospital while under treatment. The police said a case has been booked against Karthik under sections 307, 354 D of the Indian Penal Code and the SC, ST Atrocities Prevention Act.

"However, the woman never told her family members about the man or the harassment," North Zone DCP Sumathi said.
