Is This the Reason Why Teenmar Comedian Bittiri Satti Was Attacked?
Comedian and TV personality Bittiri Satti was attacked on Monday by a youth right in front of the V6 TV Channel, which airs the hit satirical bulletin. The youth came to Satti with a request for a selfie and before the comedian could realise, hit him with the helment he was carrying several times. A shocked Satti had to be rescued by the security staff members of the TV channel. He was rushed to Star Hospital in Banjara Hills. Doctors attending on him said that his injures were not of a serious nature.
The person who attacked Bittiri Satti was identified as 26-year-old Manikantha of Kalasiguda in Secunderabad. Manikantha, an aspiring film writer and a graduate in Journalism and Mass Communications, said that he wanted to teach a lesson to Bittiri Satti for insulting the Telangana dialect. He said Satti was being shown as a mentally deranged person and his utterances were not representative of Telangana. He said he had been doing a recce for the past few days and found him at V6 office at 6 PM. He said Satti's manner of speech and his diction was an insult to Telangana and hence, he wanted to teach him a lesson.
Bittiri Satti has carved a niche for himself with his unique Telangana diction and is part of the flagship programme of V6, Teenmar. This satirical show that comments on contemporary developments in Telangana dialect is hugely popular and Bittiri Satti is hugely popular mainly because of the show. He is currently busy as a film comedian and stand-up comedian. He is also doing a comedy reality show titled Zoo Lakataka. Bittiri Satti's real name is Kavali Ravikumar. Bittiri Satti was given a special award by the Telangana Government for popularising Telangana dialect.
