This Ambulance Carried Liquor, Belly Dancers, Not Patients
The moment one hears the ambulance siren, he gives way so that it can ferry across the patient to the hospital as quickly as possible. But, this ambulance in Meerut city wasn't blowing siren to save a life! It was ferrying across - hold your breath - liquor bottles and belly dancers for doctors.
The liquor and the belly dancers were meant for the enjoyment of the doctors who were participating in an alumni meet of the Class of 92 in the Government-run Lal Lajpat Rai Medical College which was held . What more, the doctors - young and not so young, danced their hearts out under the influence of alcohol and the dance girls.
Media agency ANI released pics that showed the ambulance van carrying cartons of liquor bottles. Another pic showed a belly dancer gyrating to heady tunes.
After the images went public, college principal ordered a probe into the incident. Principal vinay Agarwal said he would also ascertain if the ambulance used belonged to the Government college or a private hospital. Meanwhile, the Indian Medical Association strongly condemned the action of the doctors and the Government has begun procedures to initiate action against the erring doctors.
