Third Wife Stops Car Driver’s Fourth Marriage
CHENNAI: It would have been the car driver's fourth marriage but his third wife appeared with a police team at the scene and Nandakumar's game was up.
Police arrested the 36-year-old Nandakumar, a resident of Thanikachalam Nagar in Madhavaram and sent him to Puzhal jail after producing before a court on Monday.
Kolathur resident Usha, a widow, complained that she had become suspicious after noticing some mysterious changes in Nandakumar's behaviour and began tracking him. After finding that he was to wed Vijayalakshmi of Kosapet, also a widow, at a temple on Siruvallur Salai in Perambur on Sunday, she informed the Sembium police and the marriage was stopped at the last moment.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that Nandakumar, a car driver, had first married a woman named Chitra and she gave birth to their child.
Later, he began a relationship with Banu, a resident of Nochikuppam near Santhome, and talked her into marrying him. After they lived together for some time, he shifted focus towards Usha and tied the knot again, by hiding the fact that he had married twice before. Nandakumar narrated his amorous stories to police after the arrest.
A few months into the marriage, Nandakumar stopped visiting Usha and began trotting out the usual lame excuses and the woman suspected something wrong.
She started making inquiries and also took to following Nandakumar. She even asked some of her friends to make inquiries about the man she was living with.
The woman finally figured out what her husband was up to and she was able to scuttle his plan to marry for the fourth time.
