Tension in Thundurru as locals oppose Aqua Mega Park

Eluru (West Godavari): Tension prevailed at Thundurru village of Bhimavaram Mandal in West Godavari district on Friday. People from three nearby villages staged a huge protest against the construction of Godavari Aqua Mega Park, which they said would pollute the waters and the environment.

On Friday, people of Thundurru nearby villages tried to prevent the construction of the Aqua Park. The police, deployed in a huge number, resorted to lathi-charge to bring the situation under the control. Several protesters suffered injuries in the lathi-charge. CPM leader of West Godavari district alleged that the local people have been falling sick by drinking the water, which was getting polluted from the Aqua Mega Park.
