Tension in Bhainsa town

Adilabad: Tension gripped communally sensitive Bhainsa town in Adilabad district on Friday as police lathicharged Durga devotees.

 

The people were taking out Durga idols in procession through the streets of the town and the police were trying to control the crowds. To bring the situation under control, they canecharged the devotees. Protesting against this, the devotees staged a demonstration against what they termed as the police highhandedness.

The situation is now under control.

Delhi scored even lower, at 54.4, while the global average stands at 63.
