Tennis Superstar Serena Williams Announces Engagement To Reddit co-Founder

New York: Tennis superstar Serena Williams announced her engagement to Reddit co-founder Alex Ohanian in a short poem posted on the website Thursday.

Her poem: “I came home/A little late/Someone had a bag packed for me/And a carriage awaited/Destination: Rome/To escort me to my very own “charming”/Back to where our stars first collided/And now it was full circle/At the same table we first met by chance/This time he made it not by chance/But by choice/Down on one knee/He said 4 words/And I said yes.”

Serena Williams, 35, has been dating Ohanian, 33, for over a year. The announcement wrapped up quite a year for Williams, one in which she won her 22nd grand slam title and ousted Maria Sharapova as the world’s highest-paid female athlete. Williams, 35, saw her net wealth soar to $150 million in 2016, according to Forbes. This year alone she made almost $29 million, placing her 40th on the list of world’s highest-paid athletes, up from 47th in 2015. In contrast, Williams’ future husband has a net worth of about $4 million.
