Telugu Families Among Newark-bound Passengers Stranded at Kazakhstan Airport
Mumbai: Over 47 Telugu families are among 300 passengers are stranded at Aktobe airport in Kazakhstan. Newark-bound Air India flight from here was on Thursday diverted to Kazakhastan to make an emergency landing at Aktobe airport.
The Air India flight from Mumbai to Newark (New Jersey, United States) made an emergency landing at Aktobe airport owing to technical reasons.
Passengers at the airport have been waiting for replacement aircraft even after 10 hours of emergency landing. According to the latest reports available by 11pm on Thursday midnight. there was no replacement aircraft from New Delhi.
However, passengers were served with soup and bread from the airport kitchen. Most of the passengers consumed their packed food broght along with them.
The train was diverted to Kazakhstan as passengers noticed white smoke from the left wing five hours after the takeoff and alerted the Cabin crew.
Though no panic situation among the passengers, but they’re worried about reaching their respective places in time. Every passenger is weary and the fatigue gets compounded owing to lack of proper sleep and a shower for several hours now.
