Telugu Desam to axe 6 defiant MLAs

Telugu Desam Party is likely to take action against six defiant MLAs who voted against the no-confidence motion in the Assembly defying the whip issued by the party leadership.

Dhulipala Narendra, TDP whip said on Sunday that action would be initiated against all the members who violated the party whip. It may be recalled that 15 rebel members voted against the motion of which nine from ruling Congress party and six from the main opposition TDP. Telugu Desam party is also seriously considering issuing show-cause notices to another rebel MLA T Venugopalachari, who stayed away from the proceedings in the Assembly ignoring the party whip. The rebel TDP legislators include T. Sairaj, Taneti Vanitha, Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani), Praveen Kumar Reddy, Amarnath Reddy and Y Bala Nagi Reddy.  Harishwar Reddy from the Telangana region supported the motion when it was being considered in the House.
