Dead Body Of A Telangana Employee Found After 11 Days!
HYDERABAD: In a very shocking incident, the dead body of an underground mine worker in Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) was found in Telangana, 11 days after he went missing. The 58-year-old Kodem Sanjeev who was working as a pump operator at Singareni Collieries Company Limited went missing on April 7. He was working with Godavarikhani 11 incline mine in the Ramagundam region.
A rescue team from Deputy Director of Mines Safety Hyderbad found his body at Godavarikhani 6A -43 level. The vehicle of Sanjeev and his civil dress was found outside the work station and this indicated that he has not come out from the mine after his shift. This is the first time for the rescue team to take 11 days to trace out and retrieve the body.
As per the reports on April 7, Sanjeev went to clear the water in a specified assigned area. He went missing after his duty hours. Riaz Ahmed, General Secretary of Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS), a trade union spoke to a news daily, said that the dead body of Sanjeev was found 9 kilometers away from where he was working. Riaz further added that the management didn't take the missing case of Sanjeev seriously and didn't conduct proper searches.
Riaz demanded a probe should be conducted and cases should be filed on those who are responsible for making the search delay. Labour unions demanded Rs 50 lakh ex-gratia for Sanjeev's family in addition to the other benefits that Singareni gives to the employees. The union leaders told that the cause for Sanjeev's death will be known after the postmortem report comes.
