14 Days Remand To Accused In Priyanka Reddy Murder Case
HYDERABAD: Local magistrate has granted 14 days of remand to the four accused in a sensational rape and murder case of Veterinary Doctor Priyanka Reddy on Saturday. On the directions of District Collector of Ranga Reddy, the local MRO, Pandu Naik, who is having magisterial powers, rushed to Shamshabad police station, as the demonstrators did not allow police to move four accused-Mohammad Pasha, Chennakesavulu, Shiva and Naveen to the magistrate court. Even the doctors who have to conduct medical tests on accused, before producing to the court, were brought to the police station.
On the other hand, protests broke out across two Telugu speaking states and also in the national capital on Saturday in the wake of the brutal gangrape and murder of Dr Priyanka Reddy on the outskirts of the city on Thursday. The four accused have been arrested and kept in Shamshabad police station.
A massive student protest was organised as many demanded justice for the victim. Anger came out on to the streets as students and public gathered at Shamshabad and staged a protest bringing traffic to halt.
